The Little Treat

The Little Treat is the perfect bite sized bar to compliment your beverage or enjoy as a small snack. All Little Treats are single origin dark chocolate bars emphasizing the bold flavors of the regions in which the cocoa was grown and harvested. The current selection features Nacional hybrid cocoa beans from Ecuador. The Nacional bean dates back thousands of years to the earliest known domesticated cacao trees. Nacional cocoa is coveted for its floral aroma and complex flavor.

Origins and Flavor Profiles

Ecuador Costa Esmeraldas

Flavor Notes: Woody | Fudge | Apricot Jam

This family-run plantation operates on a 100-hectare (247 acre) farm. The name “Costa Esmeraldas” translates to “Emerald Coast”, speaking to the beautiful green forestry that lines the northern Ecuadorian coast. The area experiences little fluctuation in temperatures and is typically overcast with a light drizzle with a relatively short wet season from January to May.

Ecuador Hacienda Victoria

Flavor Notes: Floral | Brownie | Delicate

The farm that grows and harvests these cocoa beans was the first Carbon Neutral Farm in the world. It was a previously deforested area and converted into a cocoa farm that grows Nacional cocoa. This conversion led to the growth of more flora in the area and provides a home for birds and other species, contributing to biodiversity in the region.
